Is there any way to filter OSPF link-state update by IP address?

I have tried distribute-list,but it didn't seem to work for OSPF,but it does work when using EIGRP.

OSPF is a Link-State-Protocol: Routers do not advertise Distance Vectors like EIGRP does. OSPF routers advertise Link State Packets (LSPs), which are identified by a router id. Therefore you might implement routing filters based on the router id.

Be aware that route filtering is not a goal of OSPF, because router in one area should have identical databases.

There is one exception: You can filter incoming routes (ip-addresses). This is a filter running between the link state database and your routing table. OSPF will not put the route into the routing table, but it is still in the database.

If is possible for your network ... I suggest you to use Stub & Totaly Stub Area, so you can start with an automatic filter for link-state type 3-4-5 yet.

OSPF routes can't be filtered from entering the OSPF database. The distribute-list in command only filters routes from entering the routing table, but it doesn't prevent link-state packets from being propagated.

The command distribute-list out works only on the routes being redistributed by the autonomous system boundary routers (ASBRs) into OSPF. It can be applied to external type 2 and external type 1 routes, but not to intra-area and inter-area routes.

have you tried under

router ospf x

nei x.x.x.x database-filter all out

EIGRP is DV protocol only,u can do some thing on lsa type 3,4,5.

Of course distibute-list will just avoid certain route be write into routing table as u wish.
