ISDN/Analog/GSM Callback with 3640 Access Router

We have a cisco 3640 wich works as a callback router with radius authentication!

But when i use this configuration i must put the last part of the "callback2gsm" chat-script in front of the callback number! For example a ZDTxxxxxx for analog and DIxxxxxx for GSM callback (xxxxx means the telephonnumber for callback)!

Now is my question if it gives a better configuration in wich i don`t need a part of a string in front of the callback number!??? And wich will work for all three cases of callback (ISDN, Analog, GSM)!????

I think you are looking for ways so that you don't need to configure the callback number in script used during callback right?

If you are getting caller ID in the ISDN setup message, router will pick that number to be called back and for that you can use script with ATDT\T. But if you don't get caller id then you need to rely on radius server to pass that callback number to be called back. So in other words you can use radius for that. Here is the url which has example which shows callback on a aaa provided dial string.

Re: ISDN/Analog/GSM Callback with 3640 Access Router

We are authenticating against a MS AD with radius, the basic problem is that we have to setup the type of callback manually at the user properties:

gsm's with a preceding DIxxxx and analog with a preceding ZDTxxxx to define the callback type. I worked fine until we had to home GSM Users. Is there any way to create a general chat-script with variables to use it for all type of callbacks.

Thanks, Wolfgang

Re: ISDN/Analog/GSM Callback with 3640 Access Router

I see what you are trying to report. The problem here is a 3600 platform. It will not able to do some sort of modem-pooling. So you can't set aside certain modem for analog callback and others for V.110 callback for gsm users. So since the modems will be picked on round-robin and based on availability, there is no way to generalize callback using, kind of a default, chat script.

If you have Access Server like AS53xx, AS58xx, it will be possible do reserve modems for analog calls and gsm call for callin and callback. That way you can configure different chat-script for two different users.

Thanks for your response. But can we put a BRI card in our 3600 platform and handle the V.110 callback with them!?
