All the documentation on this subject talks about Cisco talking to Cisco but what if you have a situation where you have 3Com routers on the other end. Is there any documentation on this subject. My problem is that we are migrating all routing and switching to Cisco kit in the long term but we are still having to use 3Com Netbuilder II routers at HQ for at least another year. I f anyone has experience of this environment could you point me in the right direction.

I infer that you are wondering if just the ISDN backup portion will work? In short, yes. I have used Cisco DDR communicating with other vendors. Just use simple, standard protocols (PPP on serial, floating static routes, etc).
As for the FR part, just remember that the default is Cisco encapuslation. It should be changed to IETF for multi-vendor environment.

Hi,
What are you trying to accomplish exactly? I have migrated several environments from 3com/Bay to Cisco where I had to have these routers talk to each other.
Are you using Point to Point, or Frame-Relay?
Thanks
