ISDN dail to AS5300

Hi,

Iam using a 5300 as the NAS & Radius for the AAA.

Now my requirement is dial from my PC using a ISDN BRI line which is connected to ISDN TA . This will dial into a PRI line at the AS5300.

Can someone please help me suggesting a config.

The above NAS works perfectly fine with the analog calls on a PRI line.

Thanks

Srikanth

Re: ISDN dail to AS5300

Hi Srikanth,

Normally you should not have to configure much if it already works for analog calls, just copy part of the config of your Group-Async interface to your Serial (PRI)interface, like encapsulation, dialer and ppp commands.

If you post your current config, we can have a look and get you on your way?

Re: ISDN dail to AS5300

Hello,

if you have a CCO logon, check out this link, it has a lot of sample configurations:

Re: ISDN dail to AS5300

Hi ,

Thanks...

But my customer wants to dial in from his PC which has ISDN adapter. He don't wan use a separate ISDN router at his place. Is that possible?

To summarise " he wants to use a ISDN modem adapter instead of analog adapter, dial to AS 5300 ."

Pls help me ..

Thanks

Re: ISDN dail to AS5300

Well, show us your config please, so we can see what's missing.

Here's an example of a working config on a 3620 with PRI:

interface Serial2/0:15

ip unnumbered Ethernet1/0

encapsulation ppp

dialer-group 1

isdn switch-type primary-net5

isdn incoming-voice modem

no fair-queue

no cdp enable

ppp callback accept

ppp authentication pap chap callin

!

interface Group-Async1

ip unnumbered Ethernet1/0

encapsulation ppp

no ip mroute-cache

dialer in-band

dialer idle-timeout 600

dialer-group 1

async mode dedicated

ppp callback accept

ppp authentication pap chap callin

group-range 97 102

You see that there is much similarity between the Serial (used for ISDN) and the Async (used for analog modem calls).
