ISDN Dial Back-Up works but can't ping

I've set up 2 3640's for dial backup.

When R1 Serial Int goes down, Dialer comes up, Dials via BRI to R2. Connection establishes, Authenticates (CHAP) normally, but I can't ping R2 from R1 or Visa Versa.

Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure to use the exact names (case sensitive) in dialer-map statements if you are using it. Anyway, we need to see the configs from both with following debug

debug isdn q931

debug dialer

debug ppp nego

term mon

are your interfaces on the same subnet ?

If you still face this problem, why don't you let us see the relevant configurationson both end routers.

You may also may want to disable fast switching on the bri " no ip route-cache'
