when I set up my BRI interface, does it have to be on the same subnet as the other end ? or is it recommended

Hi Carl,
you have a p2p connection from your BRI to the other end, that is you need 2 ip's from the same subnet.

Your remote office A and B are in different subnet? In case if they are in different subnet, give IP address in same subnet to ur Bri interface on both office and apply routing in your Router to reach each end.
