isdn link to stay up

Dear collegues,

I have an ISDN backup link. The requirement is that side A calls side B when there is an interesting traffic; however, I need the link to stay up as long as there is traffic coming from side B to side A and still have side A initiate the call. Is that possible. Thank you.

Re: isdn link to stay up

Try PPP Callback feature. Still ofcourse initially the Side B also needs to try (if no connection is there) otherwise it will use the existing link.

Re: isdn link to stay up

On router A (which I understand will be the only side calling out) add the following under the BRI or dialer interface,

dialer load-threshold x either

Although this command is used for adding links to the multilink bundle, the "either" keyword ensures that the inbound interesting traffic keeps the link up.

NOTE: The above will only work if the link is already UP, initiated by side A..

Thnaks, Mak.
