isdn send-alerting

I am presently trying to resolve a dispute with a Telco over billing that revolves around how a BRI interface configured with isdn-send alerting would behave when it recieved a call from a remote router on one channel and it appears to have caused the interface to ring back on the second BRI channel.

Has anyone had any experience with "send-alerting" that could help me determine if this behaviour is possible.

As I understood it, the ISDN send-alerting command is for communicaiton betweeb the router and the telephone company's ISDN switch. Its function is to send an alert message to the switch prior to making an actual call. It is only part of the dialing process, it was something else that had initiated the calls.
