Lets look at your configs. Also paste a sh isdn status as well at either ends.

interface BRI0

ip unnumbered FastEthernet0

no ip route-cache

dialer map ip 10.40.24.4 name ndu-welcome xxxxxxxxxxx

dialer-group 1

isdn switch-type basic-net3

no fair-queue

dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit

ip route 10.40.24.0 255.255.255.0 10.40.24.4

You did not paste output of sh isdn status -> this is to verify that your isdn interface is working properly.

You dont need the password as long as you dont use authentication.

You can additionally use PPP encapsulation, "encapsulation ppp" under the bri interface. (both ends).

If possible, paste output of debug dialer to see whats happening.
