isis area and domain password

Hi All,

I use 3 routers to test ISIS as following:

R1--R2--R3

R1 and R2 in area 1, R3 in area 2. I establish ISIS and I can see all the routes. But when I use area-password and domain-password commands, it seems that they don't work. When I enable area and domain password in R2 but not R1 and R3, the routes still knows the routes. But when I use debug command, I can see the LSP authentication failed. Can any body explain it? Thank You!

Waimen

Re: isis area and domain password

Waimen,

Do you clear the ISIS adjacencies after putting on authentication? If not pls try this. If the adjacencies come up then, assuming you did not clear them after applying your authentication, and LSPs/Routes are exchanged then there is a problem.

Thanks,

Don
