Guru's,
I am trying to form an ISIS adjacancy over a point to multipoint ATM link but it is not being created. I have configured an ATM sub-interface with map-groups as indicated in a NANOG document on ISIS. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can successfully ping between the two interfaces.

What kind of ATM encapsulation are you using?

My understanding is that the only topologies that ISIS currently supports are Point-to-Point or Broadcast (full mesh). I recomend that you read "Routing TCP/IP, Vol 1" By Jeff Doyle.
It has a very clear explanation of the ISIS protocol.

There's your problem right there. Use SNAP.

An interesting question to ask yourself is why MUX didn't work, but SNAP did. I know the answer of course, but I think it is more educational if you think about it for awhile, and maybe do some research on it. After doing that, if you're still stumped, come back, and I'll help you out.
