ISL theory

Plain simple question:

Does ISL support the processing of untagged frames ?

Actually this is already wrong since ISL does not "tag" but "encapsulates", so more accuratly:

Does ISL support the processing of received unencapsulated packets ?

802.1q uses the PVID for untagged frames, but what about ISL.

Re: ISL theory

Hello,

No ISL doesnot support the processing of untagged frames. There is no concept of native Vlan ID in ISL as we have with dot1q. All the Vlans the tagged when you are using ISL encapsulation.

HTH, Please rate if it does.
