JRM down - problem with software image distribution

I am at my wits end on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(CD1 4th edition, on NT)

Trying software distribution for the first time. I first got an error when I tried to initiate a software distribution job - the error indicated was:

Problem Cause: Device may be used by another Resource Manager

Essentials application.

Recommended Action: Please retry the operation later. If the

problem persists, contact your technical support representative for

assistance.'

Image Upgrade Failed

When I tried to look at the jobs to see if unlocking a job might help I got another error:

JRM display initialization error: error obtaining data from server: JRM is down or is inaccessible

So then I ran self-test and saw the error:

database.pl

FAIL Self Test Fail to query cmf.DbVersion, Error: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Unable to

Self Test Fail to query cmf.SYSTABLE, Error: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Anywhere]Unable to

Not sure if I have multiple problems here but I haven't been able to find anything on CCO. I have rebooted, re-installed SP6a done log maintenance

Any ideas on where to start to fix this?

TIA

Mark

From the DOS CLI, try doing a 'net stop crmdmgtd' followed by 'net start crmdmgtd' and then repeat the SWIM job again.

Re: JRM down - problem with software image distribution

I am wondering if a reload in-place of CD1 or NT would be problematic. I also get Dr Watson user32.dll errors at startup. Or a version upgrade to CD1 5th?

This is a subset of the version information I have now:

Re: JRM down - problem with software image distribution

If you can upgrade to 5th Ed, that'll be better.
