Jumbo Frames on 6500

I am looking for input on the advantages or disadvantages on running Jumbo frames on my ser ver farms but not on my enterprise backbone. I am running a gigabit ethernet backbone and all of my servers are gig attached with nics that support jumbo frames. My closet switches are also gig attached running 10/100 to the desktop. My main question is will running jumbo frames enabled in the sever vlans provide performance enhancements or not????

Re: Jumbo Frames on 6500

If the servers primarily talk to clients and the clients don't support jumbo frames, there's no point in enabling them. If there's a lot of traffic between servers, jumbo frames could possibly add some performance but on modern NICs my understanding is that the performance gained by using them is minimal.
