Keepalives from CSS11501

I am working on a project with the current architecture:

Client machine to CSS.

CSS loadbalances (non-sticky) to 6 proxy servers.

Each proxy server has a sticky connection to an associated backend server.

My question is then:

Can CSS be configured so that it loadbalances to the proxies if and only if the associated backend servers are running? I dont want to end up in the siutation where the CSS loadbalances a request to an active proxy but with a backend that is down.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how it can be configured?

Many thanks,

Celia
