I'm doing the technical stuff for a local LAN-event with 64 participants.
We've access to one 3512XL switch and two 48port CISCO switchet (don't know the model yet, but should be managable). Also got access to a 48-port summit which I've not received model-numbers on, any suggestion for best network performance? There'll be a 2mbit dedicated link which should be prioritized for the gamers rather then people who download files. I'm thinking of making table-rows where we group the different categories and prioritize their link to the internet-gateway. Any good suggestions for LAN-setup? trunking etc?

Your design plan would work well.
For trunking configuration you could refer to the following sample config.

Yeah, I'm currently at the LAN. However we didn't receive the two 24port CISCO switches. But we did get one extreme 48port summit and two 16-port D-link switches.
