LAN Info is lost after an outage.

We have a cisco powered network all the way from the LNS till DSLAM.

we are using open networks 501R router as a ADSL router.

Now what happened is that about 6-10 of the CPEs lost their LAN details after an outage .

Anybody heard this kinda of a problem.

Please help with suggestions as to what i should check

Were the configs saved to memory before the outage ???

Re: LAN Info is lost after an outage.

Could be the info wasn't saved. When you amke config changes they are in runningmemory and have to be written to nvram. SHOW RUNNING displays the running config. SHOW START displays the saved config.

Also could be that the config is saved but the config register is set to ignore the config at boot. That means it is not lost it is just being ignored. Last line of the SHO VER shows the config register. Its a bit mapped register that should typically be X2102.

If your configuration register is not set at 0x2102, change it by typing "config-register 0x2102" in global configuration mode.....then perform a reload.
