Layer 2 security on Catalyst 3550

Dear sir/Madam,

I have installed two cat 3550 for our new implement projects on win2k file server cluster. Since the cluster server need to reserve some fixed ip for public and hard-beat newtwork, the question come , if somebody manually input some fixed ip address that conflict with the file server cluster, then duplicate ip address occurs and will cause the cluster server failover and this definitely affect our production server. Is there any layer2 security methods or ACL method that can be implemented on both Catalyst 3350 so that i can preserved the cluster server ip address so that they cannot be used by the others. Thanks.!!

Unfortunately there is no way for you to prevent users from manually entering IP addresses from your reserved IP's other than taking away their user rights to actually enter IP's on the PC's themselves.
