limitation in stacking switches

Hi,

In our campus network there are many stacked switches. I observed every where maximum 5 or 6 switches in stack.

When I tried to add two more switches to the stack, entire stack is down.

Based on existing diagrams I came to one conclusion that stacking will not support more than 6 switches. Is it true?

Re: limitation in stacking switches

Not mentioned any switch type. Assuming it should be gigastack and there are limitations in number of switches in stack (MAX to 9). For more details check out the below URL

Hope that helps.
