Linux server with multiple IPs on a single interface problem

Hi,

I have a Linux based server that connects to one port on my 3550 with 4 IP addresses. I have found that some (1 or 2) of the IP addresses are down whilst the rest are still accessable. This happens at an erratic rate with no pattern.

From the switch I can ping all 4 addresses, but going further away in the network I can only ping 2 or 3 of the addresses. I have checked the routing as well as the firewall settings and it is the same for all the IPs. I can telnet into the non responding IPs from the switch, but from nowhere else.

I have checked the arp table and it shows all the IPs with the same mac address.

Is ther eanything else I can try???

Thanks,

Simon
