little help required...what is variance?

hi ,

Is there a way to load balance the traffic on Links to the hub location between different Locations in an Eigrp network.

say i have Location A connected to Location B as well as Location C which is connected to B through Location D.

wat do i do if my direct link from AtoB is heavily Loaded...?? can i make use of other link ....??

will variance work in this scenario......

Re: little help required...what is variance?

Hello,

I think that variance is well adapted to what you're looking to achieve.

In this way, EIGRP not only provides unequal cost path load balancing, but also intelligent load balancing.

For example, if your primary path is 128k and your secondary path is 64k, 2 packets will be sent to the primary while 1 packets will be sent the secondary path.

You can use variance, but only as long as the second link is actually a feasible successor.
