We have two localdirectors 416 setup for failover and configured to loadbalance http traffic via a virtual Server IP to two Real Servers. We ran a test last night from a single client simulation hundreads of http sessions and noticed all were sent to a single real server, notting was sent to the second real server till the first was shutdown. My question is do localdirector loadbalance based on source IP-address or on the number of sessions received or am I missing something in my config. An input would be appreciated.

It depends on how you have configured the LD. Do you have any rules setup to load balance in a particular fashion ?
Give a "show real" and find out what is the status of the real server.

My config is quite basic, I have the localdirector setup to load balance all tcp request between the real servers. Are you saying it would load balance based on thenumber of sessions and not on source IP. A show real tells me both real servers are in service.
