Login problems in a cat4K6 environment

Hi,

We have a central switch (CAt4k6) with a Flat network .The workstations ping each other at <10ms but the NT Login takes place fter 2 attempts. What can be possible issues ?

ping the workstations using names and not the IP, see if you still get <10ms or there is some latency issues or WINS/DNS issues etc.

Check port and NIC speed and duplex settings. There can be problems if both sides are in auto.
