Looking for Cisco switch to load balance with switch meshing ...

Hi all,

I'm looking for a Cisco switch to perform load balancing in a way that is like HP's implementation with switch meshing. Does anyone know if Cisco supports switch meshing in a way that is similar to HP's? I'm looking at the Cisco 2950 and 3500 series switches now. Ideally, I'd like to not use STP for failover capability ... I prefer the idea of switch meshing b/c it is faster. Anyone have any ideas which Cisco swicthes may accomodate this?

Thanks!

What does switch meshing do ? On catalyst switches, here is how you could achieve load-balancing. You can make per-VLAN loadbalancing where on parallel links between switches some VLANs are forwarding on one of the link but blocking on the others. You can also configure etherchanneling allowing you to bundle several links between 2 switches in one big pipe over which packets are load-balanced.

More information on that at the following URLs:
