Loss of packet between VLAN when use ping -l 60000 IP_Address command
I have one 6509 switch where vlan 2 & 3 configured and L3 is enabled for intervlan routing. Another external switch 3524 switch connected to 6509 using gigabit ethernet and ports are configured for vlan4.One of my application is very sensitive to data bandwidth and we normaly confirm the connectivity to server using ping -l 60000 IP_Address from the workstation. But I am getting packet loss when I try the same between 2 & 4 or 3 & 4. Between 2&3 there is no loss of data. I also observed ping between vlan 2 or 3 and one of our remote location which is also working fine.
MLS is enabled.
Please let me know anybody knows about the same issue.
Re: Loss of packet between VLAN when use ping -l 60000 IP_Addres
my thought is that the packet loss might just be caused by the ping to timeout because the ping packets are too large to process in the timeout window of the client. Can you try and ping with the -w paramter to increase the timeout value ?
