Every so often I have 2600 series routers that loose both the running config and the startup config. This always happens when there is an abnormal power surge or power loss. Is it normal for this to occur?? My only option now is to dial into the router and reload the config or, if dialup is not available, get the router configed by going onsite. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

your config-register is most likely set to 0x2142 , change it to 0x2102 .
the 2142 tells the router to ignore the iconfig stored in NVRAM . 2102 tells the router to load the config from NVRAM.

Thanks for the quick response. I did check a couple of routers in question and they were not set to 2102. I has assumed they were since most of my routers are. Chalk it up to being a Monday. Thanks again.
