Lost Serial interface on 7206

I removed a subinterface from a serial interface on my 7206VXR, 12.1(1)E5. Now the whole serial interface is gone. I tried reinstalling the controller. It takes the commands but after a write mem, it does not show up, nor does the serial interface. Ant ideas?

Was it an actual serial port ?

the reason I ask this is that it may be an E1 controller card which is associated with a logical seral port.

If so then under the Controller config you will need to associate your timeslots with a channel group, e.g.

Controller E1 3/0

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31

I would now have Serial 3/0:0

Well it is running in an environment were this is not desirable. The strange thing is when I came to work the next morning it was there. Very strange.
