lotus notes server ---- not a known tcp ip host

i have a lotus notes server in my lan setup sometimes while accessing mails

a message comes saying that the server name u r tryin to access is not a known tcp ip host

this problem stays for few minutes then everybody is able to access his mails thru it

it recurrs after few days

can u give me any idea why it happens

Hello,

this sounds like a problem with your Notes server.

You can correct the problem by editing the Server document, under the Ports tab, Notes Network Ports subtab, and changing the value in the Net Address column from the DNS name of the server to the IP Address of the server instead.

thanx for ur help

i have one more query

i have wins inmy network

apart from server

so do i have to make some changes in wins also

or in host file

what else i have to do pls tell me
