Low throughput on Gigabit Ethernet

I have a Win2k server that appears while doing network backups, is only able to pull about 4 Meg. It has a Gig connection to a 6509 that isn't reporting any interface errors. Any ideas.

Hello,

you might want to check for duplex or speed setting mismatches between your server and the port on the 6509. Also, the cable might be degraded, can you switch it with another one ? Which cable are you using anyway ?

Regards,

Georg

We have already switched out the fiber jumper. They are MM ST fibers. You cannot set duplex on the GBIC gig because it only negotiates it's own signaling. We're changing out the gig nic in the server right now.

I had low throughput through one of a pair of etherchannel gig ports and it did not report any errors. The problem turned out to be a bad led in the GBIC on one of the links.
