Is it possible to assign a static dhcp address to an LRE ports hardware address rather than the interface attached to it? If so, how? If not, is there some other solution than tracking client MAC addresses or manually altering client IP settings?
No you cannot assign IP addresses to LRE interfaces/ports.
You could assign static IPs/reservations in your DHCP server for the client MACs in question to ensure they get the same address each time if this would meet your needs.
