LRE CPE to LRE CPE connection

Hi Guys!

I'm planning to extend my LAN to another building. Since the backbone is around 170meters, my first option is to use fiber cables but its too expensive and I'm thinking of using LRE technology because I have an existing UTP CAT5 cable going to the site. Can I use a CPE to CPE connection just like a network extender of some sort? is it possible? see the diagram below

SWITCH---CISCO575-LRE------1paircable-----CISCO575-LRE----SWITCH

thanks

Re: LRE CPE to LRE CPE connection

I think you should be able to do this provided the switches are LRE capable. You should be able to find more information at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lre/index.htm
