LRE distance increase

Hi

is there a way to increase max distance on a LRE link e.g. by reducing bandwith.

I'd link to install a link over about 2.7km. I'm using profile LRE-2, but there is no link. Can I define a custom profile with lower bandwith?

some LRE status (Lo0/3 is the link in question):

SW.2.216.4F.3#show controllers lre statu psd

------- Switch ------------ ----------- CPE -----------

Port Link SNR RSErr TxPwr AGCgain SNR RSErr TxPwr AGCgain

------ ---- --- ---------- ------ ------- --- ---------- ------ -------

Lo0/1 UP 22 0 -58.5 47.6 36 0 - 50.4 30.7

Lo0/2 UP 26 0 -58.5 44.6 41 0 - 50.4 30.7

Lo0/3 DOWN 10 0 -58.5 60.5 0 0 0.0 0.0

Re: LRE distance increase

Hi Thomas. I have read that LRE technology support up to 5000ft (1500m). I have configured some Lre's and the effective distance is 1200m with a LRE-2 profile (this profile has the lower bandwith and highest power). You can use the following command to see the SNR level: "show controllers lre status link longReachEthernet 0/9". With a SNR=17 or higher you can work.

If you have a link over about 2.7km, i recommend you to install a pair of módems with a router.

Regards,

Charlie Carlos
