Macintosh connectivity

I have a problem with small Macintosh G4 network. All the stations are connected to C2950 Catalyst switch. Performance is OK for the most part, but when employees start to copy files (especially the large ones), their LAN connections will randomly timeout or they get disconnected. I already disabled Spanning Tree protocol and set all the ports to 100Mb/Full Duplex to disable autonegotiation. This switch works fine on PC-based network. Also, if I replace the Cisco switch with older, unmanaged SMC switch, everything seems to be working fine. Any ideas why 2950 will not work fine with Macintosh?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Macintosh connectivity

2950g is a layer two switch and hence it doesn't care whether the packet is IP/IPX/appletalk. Now does the port connecting to the mac show any errors.

I just that you look through this known NIC issues with apple
