Main Switch!

Hello,

We have a new site that was wired by the contractors with ethernet & Fiber.

# 1. The ethernet connects the clients to the switches in the wiring closets "5 closets".

# 2. The fiber connects the wiring closets back to to the main server room.

# 3. Also there will be connections to the main switch in the server room with ethernet "Server / Hubs" etc.....

So a break down....

Wiring closets

Connects clients "Ethernet"

Connects back bone "Fiber"

Server Room

Connects back bone "Fiber 6 seperate connections"

Connects hubs / servers "Ethernet"

Re: Main Switch!

We use the 3550’s in the wiring closets (http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/si/casi/ca3550/) and a 6500 in the network room (http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/si/casi/ca6000/index.shtml) Have a design engineer look at your topology to make the right recommendation.
