Making an SSH connection

I am trying to test SSH Secure Shell.

I have set up a simple peer-to-peer network between 2 PCs via unmanaged switch. Both machines have an SSH client installed (wacssh).

I cannot open a connection between the 2 using port 22.

Have I overlooked something simple? Any help much appreciated!!

Re: Making an SSH connection

If there is a connection between to PCs (you can ping), switch has nothing to do with your problem. Try connect to SSH sever on localhost (127.0.0.1). Try "netstat" to check if 22 TCP port is opened at all.

Re: Making an SSH connection

SSH doesn't do client-to-client communication. One of the machines should be a server, and the client should initiate the communication.

What OS are you using (*nix or Windows)?

Have you generated keys?

What parameters are you using?
