How can I configure a 3500xl or 2900xl with an IP address that is not part of VLAN 1? I would like to assign the management interface of my 3500xl to a different VLAN.
You sure can. Create whatever VLAN interface you want and have the "management" keword under the interface. This will shut down VLAN 1 interface and your new VLAN interface will be up.
