Management VLAN Question

Greetings,

We have 1 layer 3 switch (4006) and a VTP domain with about 6 VLAN's/Subnets. We have 3 other switches with VTP Trunks to the main switch. We also have about 300 users with about 600 nodes. This include various test environments.

How important is it that we have a management VLAN (VLAN 1 possibly) for connectivity between the switches and other internal network infrastucture devices?

Re: Management VLAN Question

The recomendation is to normally have a separate vlan for the management domain . Also they recomend not using vlan 1 as the management domain as this vlan is used for VTP updates and a few other functions and you should try to keep any user data off this vlan if possible .
