Managing Routers and gateways from a remote machine and notification

Hi All,

I need to monitor cisco routers and voice gateways from a remote machine ... this is actually an ip telephony setup.

I am new to NMS. Can you please suggest me some sources where i can find some basic information about it.

Are you using any specific NMS application to monitor your IPT setup or planning to use one?

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2433/index.html is one. Though I'm not aware of any freewares.
