managing unnumbered interfaces

Hi

How would I manage unnumbered interfaces (e.g. in an NMS platform how would I pull information form this intefaces, how would I index them etc.).

Re: managing unnumbered interfaces

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but unnumbered interfaces should still have an ifIndex in the MIB. So, you can use SNMP to another IP on the box and get info about the unnumbered interface, assuming you know its ifIndex number. For example, you can get adminStatus, operStatus, and performance counters, to name a few.
