Master Browser on 5509

Question :

Can anyone explain to a layman (me), how the Master Browser works on a LAN with multiple switches (5500 family) setup as VLANS in a N.T. environment ?

The switches could care less..... unless the routing engine has access lists placed on the VLANs that block NetBIOS traffic between the VLANs.
