mc3810 ethernet0...not working .

i am getting the following error on a new router that i am trying to do some labs....configuring....

02:04:00: %PQUICC_ETHER-1-LOSTCARR: Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?

can somebody help me how to solve this..does this mean really a hardware problem...or something i can resolve by configuratio....i used the cisco's debugtool...it was not very helpful...and it said something like...the ethernet wire is not plugged in...that is obviosuly not ture....

so...i am looking for help in dubugging this..

at your earliest.

has any body else ever gotten this...and if so how did they resolve this...hardware or softare/config rsolution...

Are you sure the ethernet cable is ok and the correct one? If you are connecting the router to a hub/switch you will need a straight ethernet cable; if connecting to another router on the ethernet port than you will need a cross ethernet cable.
