Memory upgrade

I want to upgrade my router's flash and RAM. I have several 2511s,2514s,2611s.

1)

Is MEM2600-8U16FS (16MB), as listed in the guide, a replacement for 8MB of existing Flash? Meaning, is it a replacement, or additional to the existing chip?

2)

Can I use the exising 8MB Flash card from 2611 in my 2500 series routers?

3)

To upgrade the RAM, do I use MEM2600-32U64D (upgrade chip) or MEM2600-32D spare chip? What is the difference?

4)

When the manual says MEM-1X16D as 16MB DRAM Upgrade, is this an individual chip, or the total amount of RAM after the upgrade?

Thanks in advance,

sp

Hi

1. Yes, it replaces the 8Mb flash. You will need to tftpdnld a new image from rommon.

2. No

3. If you have 32Mb already, either. 2 slots for Dram in 2600. Difference is "=" in part code.

4. Haven't played with 2500 in a while. Remember either 4 or 8Mb Dram on board so whatever goes into expansion slot should be in addition to that.
