messages with 6509 switch

Console> (enable) 2002 Jun 15 03:39:38 %PAGP-5-PORTTOSTP:Port 2/6 joined bridge

port 2/6

2002 Jun 15 03:39:50 %PAGP-5-PORTFROMSTP:Port 2/6 left bridge port 2/6

2002 Jun 15 03:40:08 %PAGP-5-PORTTOSTP:Port 2/6 joined bridge port 2/6

and the machine which is connectes to the above port is not responding continuously.

what could be the proble and how to solve it.....

PAGP is port aggreation (channeling).

When a device powers on / connects into a port it may take up to 40 seconds or so for it to pingable, or the device to talk on the network due to spanning tree. If you configure this port for portfast then the spanning tree state will go to forwarding mode right away but if the port sees a BPDU it reverts to normal Spanning tree operation.

If you're not doing channeling on this port you can turn that off to.
