mica modem binding to bri interface(s)

Hello,

our customer uses 2 C3660 machines with 8BRIs and 30 Mica-Modems.

Till now he uses this machine as NAS for dialin users and

serial connects to other sites.

We have now the job to realize a modem backup connection to other sites,

for which we want to define a binding between up to 8 modems to 4 bri

interfaces for dialouts via reverse telnet, all the other should be left for dialin

connects.

We tested dialer profiles and rotarys, also the rotary cmd on the line,

but for dialout the router just takes the next available bri interface it wants.

Also I found the modem dialout-controller for AS5300 but this does not

fix our problem, because the customer also needs serial and bri lines

in the box and he has already 2 of the C3660s.

Is there a possibility to get this job fixed ?

Thanks for help in advance.

Regards,

Stefan

Cisco 3600 related platfor dosen't support "modem-pooling" or " resource-pooling" that way. So on 36xx platform, you can't bind modem or group of modems to the BRI/PRI/T1 interfaces.

You can use AS5300 or AS5350 with T1/PRI lines for that.

is it planned to implement this on 36xx platform ?

what other possibility do we have to get a solution for that ?

customer bought already 2 boxes (3660).

TIA,

stefan

No.. there are no plans to have the feature on 36xx platforms as they are not an access servers. All the Access Servers like AS5xxx have that feature.
