Migrating to a new address scheme using secondary IP addresses

I am currently trying to migrate a transfer network subnet from 10.28.8.0 /24 to 10.253.28.0 /16. I have utilised the secondary IP address function to establish ISDN dialer connectivity to the newly assigned addresses but am unsure how to remove the primary addresses from the interface and move the secondary addresses to be the primary ones.

Eg. Pri IP - Dialer0 10.28.8.1 /24

Sec IP - Dialer0 10.253.28.1 /16 - this address to become primary.

I am using IOS 11.3(5)T on 3620 with RIP v2 running as routing protocol.

You have to remove the secondary address before you remove the primary.
