MLPPP with Channelised STM1 & Multi-Channel 8 Port E1 Port Adapters

Dear Friends

We as backbone provider is looking to deploy MLPPP based backbone between our core locations & HUB Locations. We would have 7507 with RSP 4 & VIP4-80 on HUB locations which would have channelised STM1 & POS Adapter. Each Core/Sopke Locations would also have 7507 with 2 Multi-Channel 8 Port E1 Adapters on VIP2-50 & RSP4. Each Location would connect to HUB Location on Channelised STM1 Ring of Access-Network Provider by running MLPPP on Multi-Link Interface on Spoke & HUB Locations(Channelised STM1 will be devided in to 63 E1, under C2 Mode, and multiple Multi-Link MPPP Interfaced would be created which would group these individual E1s)

There would be initial 8 E1 between each Spoke location and HUB Locations which may be upgraded to max 16 E1(between Spoke & HUB Location) and we would run iBGP between HUB & Sopke locations.

While theoritically the solution seems to be functional, but we do not have any practical exp on Channelised STM1 and MLPPP over 8 or 16E1 so we are not sure about -

-whether the said RTR H/w will be able take care the proposed Traffic Load w/o affecting the performance(we would used Policying/CAR/MQC/Large BGP Table) or we should upgrade RSP & VIP to RSP 16 & VIP6-80.

-Whether Load balancing would affective with DCEF on these MLPPP based Multi-link Interfaces or not.

-Whether such solution is advisable for Backbone Provider(currently using Satellite based connectivity on HSSI Interface between Sopke & HUB Location)

-Practical difficulties in such a solution on day to day operations.

I find this being gathering of highly tech Networking/Cisco brains, so I would request for your kind feedback & advise on given points.

Thanks & Regards

Shailendra
