Please do we need to enable MLS on the MSFc in Cat 6509. I know it is enabled by default in the Cat 6509 but what about the MSFC in them. And if it is enabled by default how do I know we are using the route once, switch many function?
Here's a twist to this problem. I'm having trouble as well with MLS. According to what I read, you have to enable the MLS-SE and the MLS-RP. By default they are supposedly both enabled. When I verified the MLS-SE, it was enabled. However the MLS-RP was globally disabled. The real kicker is that I see flows in the cache. Since there doesn't seem to be any MLS-RP configured, I'm perplexed as to how this can happen. Also, CEF is enabled as well. I asked Cisco to explain, but haven't been able to explain it yet. Anyone have any clues??
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
