There are many ways you can set up modems on a Cisco router. You can use standard external PC modems and connect its serial port to either an AUX port or an async port on a router. You can also buy analog and digital modem network modules and WAN interface cards (WICs) with one or two analog modems built in (for the 2600 routers). Some of the 2500 series routers have 8 or 16 terminal lines for connection (with an octopus cable) to a number of modems. How many modems do you need to connect?

i use cisco module "NM-8AM". It is an 8-port analog network module.
