Modemcap entries and retrains on 2620.

I'm looking for the correct Modemcap entry for NM-8AM modems on

2620 to limit the connect speed to 14.4kbps. Any way of changing some of the S registers or putting in a different init string?

On that point a further modemcap question: Is there a setting to increase

the number of accepted retrains/negotiations?

At the moment the number seems to be fixed at 3, is there a way to increase it to a higher number like 10? Due to the bad lines in the area many customers modems are kicked off, leading to a 'no-connect'.

By increasing the number of retrains and limiting the speed we are hoping to get better results.

Thanks.

Lutz.

Re: Modemcap entries and retrains on 2620.

Here is the docs which has a AT commands for analog modems.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_mod/cis3600/sw_conf/firmware/analogat.htm

Here is the url for how to apply modemcap

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/recc_modemcaps.html

Now to limit the connection to 14.4 kbps and lower, you need to use

%G1%B114400%M0

above setting will allow the speed 14400 (V.32bis) and lower..

For Retrain limit you need to use %E1 and :T79 which can have max value 3 only..
