Hi,

I am fairly new to CISCO environment. I am trying to upgrade two switch 10 Base-TX(WS-X5012A) modules in a 3 yrs old catalyst 5000(Supervisor engine II) to a 100 Base-TX module (WS-x5224).

I found the CatOS version requirement for the WS-x5224 is a higher version than what i have.So i need to upgrade the CatOS. Can you geeks help me how i can i do this? Where from i can download the latest CatOS? What other prior steps i should pursue?

I am in need of some step-by-step documentation. Can you help me?

thanks

vensub

Vensub,

Download and upgrade instructions can be found at:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat5000/rel_6_3/config/images.htm

Be sure to reference your hw configuration in the documentation as the procedures vary from hw-to-hw.

The supervisor card (once code is upgraded and rebooted) will load the other modules with the new code during the boot cycle.

The software can be downloaded from: (LOGIN REQUIRED)

http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/sw-lan.shtml

Regards,

Paul
